The Re-Issue Lives

As if you have not guessed by the title of the post, the Born Yesterday re-issue WILL happen!

We worked out some things with the format of the song files and think we have figured out a way to get the songs to work with iTunes.

If everything goes well, the re-issue will be released on December 20th!

You will be able to download the album at iTunes, Amazon mP3, Google Music Store, Napster

Rhapsody, eMusic, Last.fm, Zune, among others.

Born Yesterday Re-Issue Update (July 23, 2011)

Well, we have some really really bad news but we have some good news also.

Starting with the bad news.........

The Born Yesterday EP will unfortunately not be getting re-issued. After we went through all the work to update the cover art and all the other stuff we went through, it turns out that the sound files that were salvageable were not high enough quality for iTunes to accept so we just decided to ditch the whole thing since that was our main goal in the first place.

The good news is that you can still hear the songs from the EP on the Otisburg MySpace page AND.............

We have released a new song on the MySpace page. Well, actually, that is only half true. It isn't actually new. It was recorded somewhere about the same time as the songs from the Born Yesterday EP, maybe even before those songs. But it was never released anywhere so we decided to release it because we like it so much. It is called "Typical Love Story."

Also, we have linked this site to each of those songs so that you don't actually have to go to the MySpace site, you can just visit this site and click on the music player.

In other news, we have decided to concentrate the rest of our efforts into getting new material out. Our plans at this point are to release singles only (2 songs maximum).

I am not going to release any song titles at this point. We are pretty sure of what the first single will be but we are still going back and forth on what the 2nd track on the single will be.

Stay tuned though. We will keep you as informed as we possibly can. :)

Born Yesterday Re-Issue Update (March 10)

Here is a quick update.

The back cover is complete.

The inside cover is not quite complete but as stated before there won't really be much to it. It is really low on the priority list right now.

The liners notes are just about finished.

Once the liner notes are done and the inside cover is done, the next step is to go to press, that is, time for it to get duplicated. Once the duplication has been approved, a release date will more than likely be announced.

Hopefully this will all happen very soon.

We would like to say we are looking at a possible April release date but can't really promise anything right now.

Born Yesterday Re-Issue Update 2

The front cover art for the Born Yesterday re-issue is complete. The back cover art is more or less complete, just need to add a couple of additional details (copyright information and that sort of stuff).

The inside artwork is not quite complete but should not be too hard to finish up considering there won't be much to add on there since all of liner notes will be online.

Also, we never mentioned this but we created a new record label in order to re-issue the ep. The label is called Suburban Empire Records and will also be the label for future Otisburg releases.

We will try to remember to update things on here as things further progress.

Born Yesterday Re-Issue Update

Just a quick update so we can honestly say that we are attempting to keep this blog updated (LoL!).

Things are progressing pretty well on the re-release. The track listing is more or less determined. 4 of the songs of course are the songs that were released on the original release of Born Yesterday and the plan right now is to include 2 more tracks.

The next step which we are earnestly working on is getting the front, inside and back cover art done. The front cover is essentially the same, aside from some arrangement changes. The back cover will be completely different. The inside art will obviously be different because we never really had any inside cover done in the first place.

We are going to do something a bit interesting with the liner notes though. They will not be included with the CDs themselves. We will actually be writing up all of the liner notes and posting them on a website and will include a link to that website somewhere on the back or inside cover.

As always, we will continue to try and keep this site updated with what is going on with the re-release.

P.S. Work has begun on the follow up to Born Yesterday. No title has been decided on but we have finished writing most of the songs for it and am now working on which ones will actually show up on the album.

Big News in the Otisburg Camp!

I know. It's been almost a year since we have posted on this thing. What can I say. Life just kind of gets in the way sometimes.

So the last time we posted on this thing, we had plans to release a full-length album. As we said, the writing process had begun and that was just about what it ended with...the writing process.

Steve moved back to Oklahoma City a few months after the passing of his wife so it has been, suffice to say, not so advantageous to get together and get the new tunes recorded.

However........

There are big things happening in the Otisburg world.

We are still writing songs and still planning on somehow getting together to get them recorded. We have several options available to us in order to do this.

Aside from the new album something else is happening and this is the first time we are announcing it.

Otisburg is going to re-release the Born Yesterday ep!!! No specific date set as of yet but it is going to happen very soon. We will not be re-mastering the ep but we will be re-issuing it with a few extra tracks. It is going to be available on iTunes as well as a hard copy. We will have more details as things further progress.
